Karolien Polenus, better known as NiXiE, is a DJ and concert organiser who has been prominent in the Brussels underground music scene for years. She is also active as a photographer and performance artist focusing on themes such as nature, spirituality and alchemy. In 2022, she earned her diploma as a sound therapist and established a practice for 'energy medicine' with a mission to guide people towards expanded consciousness through sound. In her new project siREn cAlls, she now combines sound healing elements with experimental music, both electronic and acoustic. Especially for Artefact Sound, she adds a visual layer to this sound bath, creating an immersive and multidimensional performance. From her archive, she selected video recordings of water from all over the world, edited together with artist Linde Stevens.
